The gathering
Not speakers and an audience. Potential collaborators.
On 18 November 2026, government, industry, academia, startups, communities, NGOs, experts and young people come together to identify shared challenges, match them with existing capabilities, and launch collaborative pilots.

The three conversations
The day moves in one direction.
- 01
Evolve & Adapt
What is changing?
AI and other emerging technologies are changing the nature of knowledge, work, entrepreneurship and organisations faster than conventional systems can adapt. Young people need more than updated curricula: they need opportunities to learn, experiment, collaborate, build and demonstrate what they can do.
- AI and technological change
- Work and entrepreneurship
- Education and institutions
- Society
- 02
Decentralise & Collaborate
What do we already have?
Industry has problems, expertise and opportunities. Academia has students, faculty, research and infrastructure. Government can enable, connect, coordinate and scale. Communities reach places formal systems cannot. The task is to make these visible to each other.
- Capabilities and expertise
- Infrastructure and laboratories
- Networks and communities
- Existing programmes and opportunities
- 03
Collective Action
What will we build together?
Shared challenges meet existing capabilities and become practical collaborative pilots with participating institutions. Each pilot has a defined objective, contributing partners, a coordinating team and measurable milestones, reviewed at 30, 90 and 180 days.
- Shared challenges
- Institutional commitments
- Collaborative pilots
- Working coalitions
Who should participate
If you hold a piece of the ecosystem, you belong in the room.
The room is curated so that every stakeholder group is present and every participant can commit to something. That is why we ask for an expression of interest rather than opening free registration.
Government and public institutions
Bring a challenge, a programme that needs partners, or a barrier you can remove.
Industry leaders
Bring real problems, mentors, technology, infrastructure and opportunities for early-career talent.
Vice-Chancellors, deans and faculty
Open laboratories and research, pilot experiential learning, recognise demonstrated skills.
Startup founders
Bring technology and the appetite to test a pilot quickly.
NGOs and community organisations
Bring reach, context and the people who are usually left out of these rooms.
Students and early-career professionals
Bring ideas, energy and the questions nobody else is asking. You are not the audience; you are collaborators.
Programme
Shape of the day
Session times and formats are being finalised. The organisers’ working design is below; it is a proposal, not a confirmed programme, and it favours working conversations over ceremonial speeches.
- 01
National perspective
Reimagining education, employment and opportunity in the AI age.
- 02
Vice-Chancellors’ conversation
Experiential learning, industry immersion, proof of work and institutional change.
- 03
Decentralisation and collaboration
Government, industry and community capability-sharing.
- 04
Rise Together Compact
Voluntary, specific commitments with named owners, and two to five practical pilots.
Speakers and partners
To be announced
Speakers, partners and institutional participants are published here only once they have confirmed. We do not list prospects. If your institution wants to be part of the day, the fastest route is to bring a challenge, capability or opportunity.

Express your interest
This is an expression of interest, not a confirmed seat. A coordinator reviews every submission; you will receive an acknowledgement with a reference number now, and an invitation, waitlist note or follow-up question by email later.
Your details are used only for Rise Together and related collaborations. Read the privacy notice.
